We are very pleased to announce the merger of Paramed Systems into the Stryker business effective immediately. The joining of our fast growing Stryker evacuation product line with Paramed Systems’ complementary patient evacuation and transport devices will allow our combined team to offer comprehensive solutions for facility evacuation needs. It is an example of Stryker Corporation leveraging its strong balance sheet for targeted strategic expansion.
Paramed was originally incorporated in 2004 in West Jordan, Utah. Over the past five years, the ParaSlyde™ product line emerged from the innovative Paramed team. The patented ParaSlyde minimizes risk while assisting in safe and rapid evacuation for non-ambulatory patients in hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living centers and high-rise buildings.
Joining Stryker with the merger will be Nate Walkingshaw and key members of the Paramed team. Nate was the founder of Paramed systems and is widely respected as a worldwide expert in the building evacuation market. He and the talented team members come to Stryker with a passion to make a difference in the lives of our customers.
Paramed’s manufacturing, customer support, and administration will relocate to Stryker Medical Division’s Centre Ave. facility, which further validates our confidence and trust in our Kalamazoo-based team.
In closing, this is a bold first step in continuing Stryker Medical’s quest to be the most admired, fastest growing medical technology company.
